Jesus: Is He God From What the Bible Says? (The Real Truth)

People generally ask a question about Christ’s divinity; some think that Jesus is a man, a teacher, and a prophet. However, he is unique in personality and also much more than that.

He left ample proof that he was not only God but also the Son of God and a human being. All four Gospels mention Christ’s divinity by sayings and by his miraculous works. This proves his divinity, and the miraculous works can’t be done by man except by God.

Proofs That Jesus Christ is God

Proofs that Jesus is God

Here are the proofs that give support to the claim of Jesus’ divinity. These are the fundamental reasons to justify the claim.

Jesus Himself Acknowledged That He Was God

Indeed, if someone claims that he is God or the Son of God, it doesn’t mean that he is God; he could be a liar. Jesus not only confessed, but he was also willing to die for that confession.

The title “Son of God” does not mean that at first there was God, who then gave birth. But the title “Son of God” for Jesus meant that he was the same as God as mentioned in John.

He had the same nature as God the Father, which meant that he was God himself.

John 5:18

What Does the Bible Say??

Some Jesus followers think that he is the Son of God, not the creator of the universe. But the divinity of Jesus is mentioned many times in the Old and New Testaments. Holy scripture multiple times confirms Jesus’ divinity.

He is the one who created the world and everything in it.

(John 1:3)

Paul wrote that when Jesus died, the Father declared to the whole world that he was God.

Philippians 2:5-11

The Resurrection of Jesus Reveals His Divinity

Jesus resurrection after death
The resurrection of Jesus

After the crucifixion, the resurrection of Jesus occurred after three days in the tomb. The events of Christ’s resurrection are well documented in the New Testament by honest and trustworthy witnesses.

Jesus needed to rise from death to confirm the truth of his statements concerning his resurrection.

Matthew 12:39-40, John 2:18-22

Only God Can Do What Jesus Christ Does

The work and actions performed by Jesus prove that he is God. Actions like forgiveness of sins, raising the dead, resurrection, and judgment demonstrate that Jesus is God. This is because no one else can do these things.

Conclusion

From these proofs, it is evident and has been established that Jesus is God. Finally, as God, Jesus is humanity’s redeemer, the one who became man and came to save humanity from their sins. He makes real access to a close relationship with God possible.
